3 Kittens Needle Arts offers several weaving classes for the rigid heddle loom. Rigid heddle looms are small table-top looms, and we feature the Cricket Looms from Schacht Spindle Co. Our classes are designed to engage and challenge students at the beginning and intermediate levels. We want you to get the most out of our classes, so our project descriptions include prerequisite skills. If you don’t have some of the basics down, you may want to take the beginning class or participate in a studio in order to learn them before taking on a more challenging project.
Beginning: Intro to Weaving
Our Intro to Weaving class will get you familiar with the rigid heddle loom and provide you with the terminology and knowledge to warp the loom and weave a plain scarf. The class is two 3-hour sessions.
After you’ve taken the Intro to Weaving Class, you will be ready to take on some of the project classes we have throughout the year. These classes will concentrate on working with multiple yarns or different techniques such as Color & Weave or Pick Up patterns.
Registration is fast and easy. We can take your registration online, in person or over the phone. All you need to do to secure your spot in a weaving class is to pay the class fee and purchase any required materials. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover as well as cash and checks. If you register online, we also accept Paypal. Online registrants will be emailed a confirmation of their place in class. Each class has a maximum of 6 students unless otherwise specified. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Looms are available for rent for the duration of a class. The rental fee can be applied to a purchase of any loom at the end of the class.
CLASS BONUS: You will receive 10% off any yarn purchased for a weaving project class.
3 Kittens Needle Arts reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class if the class minimum of four students is not attained. If the class is canceled by 3 Kittens, class fees will be fully refunded in the form of original payment.
For weaving classes, student cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the first session to receive a refund for the class fee. After that date, class fees are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another class.
